Sweet Lousiville,

Oh how I love thee!  Just kidding.  To much theatre over the last few days I guess. But...I'm in Louisville!  And more importantly that means I'm with my sweet, sweet husband!

So there won't be much writing here until later this week. But in the mean time if you really miss me and my great writing and photography. lol.  Go to Creating Keepsakes website and look under magazine/current issue.  My latest how-to article should be up between today and tomorrow.  It's on photographing Holiday treats.  Here is a little sneak peak.  The dishes minus the food. Love those vintage ornaments.  They were my great grandmothers.

Happy Birthday!

This very handsome man is turning 30 today!  And I'm not there.  Boo.  But I will be there Saturday, (Yay!) and so we are having a pretend birthday next week on his day off. I'm so, so excited to see him again. If absence makes the heart grow fonder we have had a lot of time to grow to love each other even more.  He is a very good man and I'm so lucky to be married to him. 

  It's been a while since I have blogged.  Things have been so busy here. I wish I could say what I have been busy with but I can't actually recall anything very exciting or blog worthy.  Mostly work, and decorating early for Christmas for work. ( Writing articles for my online column)  I think the neighbors are a little annoyed at our early decorating but hey just wait until it's June and I'm decorating for Christmas again ( the magazine runs 6 months ahead of time.)lol. You do what you have to do right? lol.

  Otherwise we are busy watching lot's of Star Wars.  I loved Star Wars when I was a little girl.  As in I had Princess Leia pajama's and spent my time dreaming of saving the universe and Hans Solo. ( but really who didn't like Harrison Ford?) I think I may even begged my mom to put my long hair into buns on the sides of my head. Nice.  Anyway, we recently introduced Grant to the old movies.  I've been pretty careful about what I let the boy's watch.  I do not like violence.  I have a really hard time watching anything with any violence shown.  No war or action movies for me.  Not even SUV or Law and Order.  I just don't like thinking about things like that. But at 7 years old I figured he was ready to see the old school films.  Not the new ones.  I'm still not ready for how violent those are.  At least they have a good moral to them right?  He of course loves them.  And he was Luke for Halloween.  Luke, the jedi not Luke from before, he had to have a very specific outfit.  Which my Mom made for him since we couldn't find it anywhere.  He loved it.  And thus our lives have been ruled by the force lately. Simply by the fact that if Grant is home he is watching one of the movies therefore Cole and I are too.

  And really that's about it.  Let me think?  Work? Christmas decor early?  The skywalkers?  Yep that about sums it up. I have been working on some Christmas decor which I will post soon!

It's finally out!

  If you click to the link below you can see the new table of contents and you will see my name on it!  It's funny because I've been working on it for quite sometime now so it hasn't felt new for a while and I forget that other people don't know.  But yay!  Now they can know and now I can talk about it.  It's a photography column addressing different photography questions and techniques.  I'm really excited about it.  I was really surprised the CK had never had a monthly photography column when photography is such a huge part of scrapbooking so I think this will be really great and I really, really hope that it helps people. 

  I'm also super excited for Jessica and all the other new monthly columns. I hope this will be a good year for CK!

So excited!  Look at the new CK cover!  With a new Editor-in-chief ( who was a creative director) and a new Creative editor it was time for a new look!  And you just had to know they and the designers would do a great job. I love it.  It looks so fun and bright and lovely.

For allison!

It's been a while.  I know.  But before I post and get into all of that I wanted to share a few sneak peaks of the shoot I had with the lovely Allison and her family.  I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with this amazing family.  I won't lie when I say that the thought of shooting 8 children so young in age made me really worried.  I really admire Allison and I really wanted to do a good job.  But I shouldn't have felt nervous at all, these children were amazing.  So well behaved and full of life.  Allison and her husband were so great too, such wonderful parents and you could just see the love between them all.  These are just a few fun ones:
